Scan mail

Using this scan mail option, the virus scanner will go through the home:mail/ folder and scan all files for viruses and Trojans. The home:mail/ folder is the standard folder where mail for all Addon domains and Sub Domains is located.

Scan entire home directory

Using this option will cause the scanner to scan all files that belong to you in your /home/user directory on the server's file system.

If a virus is found

If a virus is found in your scan, you will be prompted with a page that will ask you how you would like to process the virus.

The options are self explanatory but just to give you a brief rundown:

  • Disinfect will attempt to clean the file whilst allowing you to keep the file if the disinfection is successful.
  • Quarantine will move the file to a quarantine area where you can decide what you wish to do with it at a later date. Files in the quarantine area cannot cause any further damage.
  • Destroy will delete the file and make it unrecoverable. IMPORTANT: if you Destroy a file there is no turning back.
  • Ignore will just leave the file the way it is and keep the virus/trojan.
