This list attempts to list most of the ports used in cPanel, WHM and all other hosting areas. This information can be useful when setting up your firewall.
- 20 - FTP TCP inbound/outbound
- 21 - FTP TCP, UDP inbound/outbound
- 22 - SSH TCP inbound
- 25 - SMTP TCP inbound/outbound
- 26 - SMTP TCP inbound/outbound (Used on port 587, this port is only needed to be open if the option in cPanel to run exim on port 26 is used.)
- 37 - rdate TCP outbound
- 43 - whois TCP outbound
- 53 - DNS TCP/UDP inbound/outbound (inbound is only needed if you run your own public DNS server you)
- 80 - HTTP TCP inbound/outbound
- 110 - POP3 TCP inbound
- 113 - ident TCP outbound
- 143 - IMAP TCP inbound
- 443 - HTTPS TCP inbound
- 465 - SMTP TLS/SSL TCP/UDP inbound/outbound
- 587 - SMTP TCP inbound/outbound (alternate port for customers who's ISP blocks port 25)
- 873 - rsync TCP/UDP outbound
- 993 - IMAP SSL TCP inbound
- 995 - POP3 SSL TCP inbound
- 2082 - cPanel TCP inbound - You can visit the address by using your own domain name (eg. http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel/ OR http://www.yourname.com:2082/)
- 2083 - cPanel SSL TCP inbound - You can visit the address by using your own domain name (eg. https://yourdomain.com/cpanel/ OR https://yourname.com:2083/)
- 2086 - for the WHM login on reseller accounts (outbound for DNS cluster) - You can visit the address by using your own domain name (eg. http://www.yourname.com/whm OR http://www.yourname.com:2086/)
- 2087 - for the secure WHM login on reseller accounts; SSL TCP inbound/(outbound for DNS cluster) - You can visit the address by using your own domain name (eg. https://yourname.com/whm OR https://yourname.com:2087/)
- 2089 - cp licence TCP outbound
- 2095 - for Webmail access (TCP inbound) - You can visit the address by using your own domain name (eg. http://www.yourdomain.com/webmail OR http://www.yourname.com:2095/)
- 2096 - for secure Webmail access (SSL TCP inbound) - You can visit the address by using your own domain name (eg. https://yourdomain.com/webmail OR https://yourname.com:2096/)
- 2864 - SSH TCP inbound
- 3306 - MySQL TCP (only if you need to connect remotely)
- 6666 - Internet Relay Chat (IRC) TCP inbound. Some providers utilise port 6667.
- 9898 - AIM TCP outbound
