Email accounts (cPanel)

This section in cPanel allows you to manage the POP/IMAP email accounts associated with your hosting. The information is displayed with the following format:
- Address: This will be the email address of the account
- Login: This will be the users login name for the user to log into the account with.
- Delete: This button allows you to delete the account.
- Read Webmail: This button will take you to the Webmail page and allow you to login as that user.
- Aging: Mail aging is the process in which e-mails will be removed from the server automatically, upon successful log out of a pop3 session. This deletion will only occur if the messages are older then a specified amount of days.
Note: E-mail aging will only work with pop3 sessions.
The "Number of days to keep e-mail:" Option on this page will allow you to specify a minimal amount of day's that emails will be kept. For example, if you specify the number 5 in this field, any emails younger than 5 day's old will not be deleted if Aging is enabled on any pop account.
- Change Quota: Setting a quota on an account will enforce a set limit of the amount of space that this account can occupy on the servers file system.
- Change Pass: This option allows you to apply a new password for the given account.
- Configure Mail Client: In this section, you are able to click on one of the following options:
- Auto-Configure Microsoft Outlook® for IMAP Access
- Auto-Configure Microsoft Outlook® for POP3 Access
- Auto-Configure Microsoft Outlook Express® for IMAP Access
- Auto-Configure Microsoft Outlook Express® for POP3 Access
The above four links are pretty much self explanatory. Clicking on any of these links will download a file that you must execute to automatically configure the application of choice using the mail access method of choice.
- Manual Settings: If you wish to configure your mail client manually, the settings to do so are outlined here.
- Mail Server Username: username+userdomain.com (you must replace the + with @ for the email to work. The @ symbol is replaced with the + for protection against spammers)
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.userdomain.com
- Outgoing Mail Server: It is recommended you use your ISP;s SMTP server however you can also use mail.userdomain.com (maker sure you enable "server requires authentication")
- Supported Incoming Mail Protocols:** POP3, POP3S (SSL/TLS), IMAP, IMAPS (SSL/TLS)
- Supported Outgoing Mail Protocols:** SMTP, SMTPS (SSL/TLS)
